Get wet

Water

The fourth and last leg of the photo contest Scandinavian Photo is holding at Instagram is upon us and this weeks theme is WATER. Competitions like these are fun, you can interpret the theme however you wish and challenges that force you to think outside the box is appreciated.

Unwilling

One thing that's beyond my comprehension is why people who gladly take and post selfies in social medias day and night are totally anti and hide away when a real camera come along. Surely it should be a positive thing to get proper portrait images to post, but no, when a real photographer enters the scene they disappear into thin air just to avoid being photographed.

One such unwilling model is my stepdaughter, on both Instagram and Facebook her selfies are apparent. She's a lovely girl who should welcome the opportunity to get quality images to post. Here's one of the few shots I managed to get of her, even then when she realized that the camera was clicking hid her face.

Sleepless

Every now and then I am having problems sleeping, then I usually turn the puter back on and play around a little with images. Sometimes I fiddle with black and white, like when I turned out this portrait of a most unwilling model that I had to secretly pop a shot or two of before she noticed the cam and hid her face.

Cerise

During summer nature is full of colors, there is no end to it. Although the sweet pea really is an inconspicuous flower it certainly lights up the day with it's multitude of different colors, cerise being just one of them.

Morning dew

All the nice views one get to see when being up and out at the crack of dawn, like the morning dew still on flowers making them even more beautiful...

Grumpy

With a total absence of events to  shoot at least there are kids all over the place to aim the camera at even though they're not always too happy with that darn photo creation machine. This slightly grumpy face tells me that she'd prefer if I pointed the lens in an entirely different direction.

The Chosen

Scandinavian Photo have a summer photo contest running at Instagram and every week they choose a few of the contributions to post in their story #spsummertime to inspire more contestants to get creative. For this weeks theme, JOY, one of my images was chosen.

Joy

Next leg of the four week competition Scandinavian Photo is holding at Instagram kicked off today with the theme JOY and my first contribution is kids playing with soap bubbles, there is no joy such as the one kids have when enjoying themselves...

Pretty in pink

While recovering from the allergic reaction to the tetanus shot with the addition of horse epithelium further boosting the reaction some nut job let a cat in to the stairwell yesterday (none of the residents here are cat owners), it remained there for hours until I realized it was inside and I could let it out again. Those epithelium boosted my allergic reactions even more. Slowly I'm getting back to some kind of normalcy and am able to get back to shooting and editing images like this little pretty in pink floral.

Abstract

Scandinavian Photo have a summer competition up and running at Instagram https://www.instagram.com/scandinavianphoto/ during July with a new theme each week. This week the theme is ABSTRACT and it's not an easy theme to dig out images for as it is a rather subjective concept, abstract means different things for different people and it's almost impossible to find a unitary definition as well...

This is my first contribution to this weeks contest...

God knows I'm in dire need of this weeks prize, the hard drive LaCie 2big Raid 8TB, so I can get the entire image archive gathered on a single drive...

Withdrawal

I'm kind of in withdrawal and have been ever since there was a ban on events with more than 50 participants. There have been no events of any kind to shoot for ages and I would gladly attend even a small pub performance with my camera at this point. All I have left when it comes to concerts is an abundance of archive images so I at least can reminisce days gone by, like the Live & Local two day festival in Katrineholm, Sweden, way back in 2015 when among others Vanity BLVD entered the stage.

Competition

In July Scandinavian Photo are having some weekly competitions at Instagram open for anyone with a camera. This weeks theme is nature and of course I hava entered a few contributions.

Warning

When I'm out and about with my trusted Alphas I see everything and everything is fair game to shoot. I've been wondering about this sign though, they're warning about what? Hamsters?!?

Orchid

Went for a walk in the woods and found me some orchids...

Days of grey

The last couple of days have been grey both outside and indoors. Lousy weather so I've been playing around with black and white photos inside.

Rabid

So it's been a little quiet here for a couple of days and there is a very good reason for this.

Last Thursday evening me and the missus went for a walk to visit friends and hand deliver an invitation to an event while walking the dog. Upon arriving at our friends house there were a bunch of otherr people with dogs visiting them so the missus and the pooch waited outside while I went into the friends garden when totally unprovoked one of the visiting mongrels attacked me and bit me twice in the legs.

The following day I went to the medical clinic to get a tetanus booster shot as it has been well over 20 years since the last one. Of course I had an allergic reaction to the shot and this has rendered me unable to work properly, hence the silence at the blogs.

Right now I'm just waiting for the invoice from the medical clinic before demanding compensation from the dog's owners who didn't even come out to check what the commotion was outside the house and I haven't even heard a whisper of an apology yet. If the owners refuse to compensate me I will file charges as the dog and what it does is their responsibility, dogs who bite humans will have a minimum sentence of a mandatory muzzle but may also be sentenced to be sentenced to be put to death.

Slow

Things have been slow on the blogs and there are reasons for that, reasons I will get to in a later post. This doesn't mean that I have been inactive though, I have been toying with lots of different types of photography. For instance black and white images for an external project.
